Winster is an ancient lead-mining village in the Derbyshire Peak District that has existed since as far back as the doomsday book (1086). It is ideally located in the White Peak halfway in between the Peak District towns of Bakewell and Matlock.

Winster has many medieval buildings that date back to the hey-day of its mining legacy. There are many intriguing narrow pathways that lead up and around the village winding past the cottages that huddle on the hillside.
